Symptoms: hesitation, mild shudder or jerkiness pulling away or in slow stop-start traffic on the dual-clutch automatic
What to do: Some low-speed hesitation is characteristic of the dry dual-clutch transmission, not necessarily a fault; ensure transmission software updates have been applied. On the 48V mild-hybrid version the stop-start and engine restart can add to the sensation. Test-drive in traffic and have persistent harsh shudder or slipping inspected.

Symptoms: faster brake, tyre and clutch wear if driven hard or tracked; the 1.6 T-GDi is a manual-only performance car
What to do: The i20 N is a hot hatch — enthusiastic or track use accelerates consumables and heat-cycles the oil. Change the oil more often than the standard interval if driven hard, warm it up before pushing, and treat brakes/tyres as performance wear items rather than defects.
