What's new in Brimly
Every update of the Brimly iPhone app, newest first, with the day it reached the App Store.
-
Version 1.2.6
Latest- Brimly now speaks 35 languages, widgets included. This version adds 26, among them Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean, Hindi, Polish and Ukrainian.
- The built-in car catalog grows by 40 models, including the Kia Niro and EV3, Škoda Enyaq, Elroq and Kodiaq, Volvo EX30, Fiat Panda and Grande Panda, Jeep Avenger and Nissan Juke. Lancia and Jaecoo are new makes.
- Among the new models are Japanese kei trucks and vans: the Daihatsu Hijet and the Suzuki Carry and Every, along with their twins from Nissan, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Subaru and Toyota. The catalog also gains older Toyota Corolla generations, back to 2002, and more generations of the Honda Fit, Nissan Serena, Toyota Sienta and other popular Japanese models.
-
- Made for iPhone Duo: open it, and the Garage, log, statistics, assistant and Trip Planner spread across two panes on either side of the fold. Closed, Brimly works just as before.
- On iPad in landscape, the same screens show two panes side by side.
- Two Brimly windows can sit side by side, each with its own car and its own chat.
- At the largest text sizes, amounts stay in one piece, and rows and cards no longer overlap.
- Every toolbar button now has a name for VoiceOver, and Close sits on the left on every screen.
- The Car widget now shows the full distance to your next service.
- In Trip Planner, address suggestions no longer get stuck on the first letters when you type quickly.
-
- Halloween sale, October 20 – November 3: Brimly Forever is 30% off, and new PRO subscribers get their first year on the yearly plan at half price.
- During the sale, the Garage also offers a free car check-up with the AI assistant.
- When a plan is discounted, the purchase screen shows the regular price next to the sale price.
- New in Settings → Notifications: “Offers & discounts”. It stays off unless you turn it on, and we write a few times a year at most.
-
- Smart notifications, free for everyone: a nudge when you forget to log a fill-up or charge, a spending recap on the 1st of every month, and a heads-up a week before your mileage reaches the next service. Service and document reminders now arrive at 10 a.m. Settings → Notifications.
- New in the Garage in the US and Canada: Maintenance plan — the factory service schedule for your car, added to your reminders in one tap. 36 popular models so far.
- Your first receipt scan is free.
- Easier logging: Save tells you exactly what's missing, and your first fill-up can reuse the mileage you entered when adding the car. The Garage also explains when fuel consumption will appear.
- A faster start, and the service banner in the Garage now shows up only when a service is actually coming up.
- Land Rover joins the built-in car catalog.
-
- Light theme is here. Settings → Appearance: System, Light or Dark. Dark stays the default, and widgets keep their dark look.
- Close a reminder without opening the app: tap Done or Remind in a week right on the notification, or Mark done on the Next service widget. The next one is scheduled from your real mileage.
- Log a fill-up from Control Center, the Lock Screen or the Action Button. And Spotlight now finds your cars and documents.
- A quicker start: one question before setup, and the Garage nudges you to log your first fill-up.
-
- Importing from Drivvo now reads the file the app actually exports, and imported expenses land in their own categories — Scheduled service, Repairs, Tires, Car wash, Insurance — instead of Other. Imports from Fuelio and Fuelly pick up the categories too.
- Check units and currency before you import: distance, volume and currency can be changed right in the preview.
- A new app icon: the dark Arc. The speedometer is still available in Settings → App icon.
-
- Check a repair quote before you pay. Paste what the shop wants to charge and the assistant reads it line by line against your own log — already done, not due yet, or a classic upsell.
- Export a full vehicle report as a PDF: profile, every fill-up and expense, reminders and documents. Perfect for a sale or a shop visit. Free, and built on your device.
- OBD2 now knows every generic fault code — over 2,600, all offline. Read the explanation, then continue it in the chat with one tap.
- The Garage opens on a grid of tiles: fill-up, expense, receipt, OBD2, trip and assistant, each one tap away. iPad gets a two-column layout.
-
- Import from another app — move your fill-up and service history over in a single file.
- Onboarding keeps your progress if the app restarts, and failures now explain what actually went wrong.
- Garage management: export, import and odometer readings right in the vehicle list.
