Symptoms: kick on the 1-2 upshift and low-speed shudder in traffic; on some 2022-2023 cars the transmission would momentarily drop to neutral on an aggressive launch as its protection logic misread the hard start
What to do: Insist on current transmission (TCU) software; when buying a used 1.6T, do repeated stop-go and a couple of harder launches on the test drive and confirm the dual-clutch fluid history. Budget for an eventual clutch renewal on hard-driven city cars.

Electronics glitches and some early chassis/brake wear
Symptoms: head-unit freezes and assorted sensor faults (TPMS, rain/parking sensors, 360-camera modules), plus reports on some cars of front brake-disc vibration and premature front control-arm/rear-shock wear
